How to renew  

Details of your subscription amount can be found in 'My IET' or will be printed under the ‘Your Payment’ section of your annual membership fee notice.

How to pay:

  • Direct Debit is the IET's preferred method of payment as it helps keep our costs to a minimum and therefore ensures that your membership fees are put to best use. You can sign up online by logging on to www.theiet.org/my and following the 'Direct Debit' link. If you have not previously registered, it is quick and easy to do so: use the ‘register’ facility on the top of each IET page and follow the on-screen instructions;
  • Pay online by debit or credit card;
  • Use a Sterling cheque or Banker’s Draft made payable to ‘The Institution of Engineering and Technology’. Please write your membership number and payment reference on the reverse of the cheque or draft. Please note that we do not accept payment by Western Union;
  • Contact our Member and Customer Services Team on +44 (0)1438 765678. Calls can be taken Monday-Friday between the hours of 0800 and 1800 GMT;
  • We do not accept or take any liability for payment by cash by post;
  • Please be aware that if you allow your membership to lapse and then wish to rejoin the standard subscription rate will apply;
  • Some countries have arrangements for members to pay locally - see 'Pay Locally' section.
