Re-join the IET

How to re-join the IET or re-instate your professional qualifications: CEng, IEng or EngTech.

Do you feel that you're missing the vital information IET membership provides?  It's easy to re-join!

How to re-join

  • Download and complete the appropriate application form (lower right) and post to the address below;
  • Call us on the number below and we'll re-instate you over the phone.

Previous members of the IET or former IEE and IIE

If you have previously been a member of the IET or the former IEE and IIE and your membership has now expired, then you are welcome to re-join.  All you have to do is pay the current year's IET membership fee, quoting your previous membership number with your payment. 

Previous ECUK registered members

If you were previously an ECUK registered member and your membership has been expired for less than three years, then you are welcome to join the IET.  All you have to do is pay the current year's IET membership fee along with all outstanding ECUK fees and quote your previous membership number with your payment.

If you have gained CEng, IEng or EngTech through the former IEE or the IIE and your membership has been expired for three years or more, then you will have to re-apply to be registered with ECUK. To do this you must pay the current year's membership fee in full in order for your name to be added to the IET's register of members. You will then need to download the relevant application pack for CEng, IEng or EngTech and complete all the forms and send these to us together with your assessment fee which is £103 (for CEng and IEng) and £52 (for EngTech). Please quote your previous membership number on any correspondence or payment.

If  you do not wish to remain registered with ECUK but would still like to be a member of the IET then all you have to do is pay the current year's IET membership fee and quote your previous membership number with your payment.
