About this event
The pioneer in signal processing identified the distortion created by the Doppler shift in radar echoes and is celebrated by the QinetiQ building named after him.
His principles apply today to both hunters and the hunted: to refine target information or to confuse a pursuer.
Woodward managed to deduce all methods of data processing by applying the principles suggested by Shannon in his paper on information and communication theory in 1948 which led Woodward to deduce the maximum resolution of any waveform and introduce the ambiguity function.
