Welcome to the website for the IET Switzerland Local Network. Here you will find general information on the Network's activities as well as up to date information on technical and social events being organised by the Network.

Please check out our next activities on the events link on the left side of this page. It is generally best to tell the organiser if you plan to attend a meeting in case there are late changes.

We have already had a number of excellent events in 2008, including the AGM in Fribourg, the renewable energies lecture in Rolle (with an simultaneous replication in Zurich thanks to Cisco's Telepresence), and a visit to the new Lötschberg rail tunnel, followed by a walk in a thunderstorm the following day. You can see previous events on the events page by entering a start date before today!

In the early Autumn we plan another IT event where we will learn all about Service Oriented Architectures. We also return to the mountains - this time following in the footsteps of Guglielmo Marconi, and then we can offer you an insight into what its like on the night shift in a Swiss Post sorting office.
