Overview

The course is intended primarily as a foundation to enable participants to lay the foundations for subsequent technical courses, in particular the Portable Appliance Testing, Testing of Electrical Installations and Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations courses.

A 10 per cent discount will be given on any of the above mentioned courses when booked in conjunction with this Basic Electrical Course.

• Insulation and continuity resistance;
• Electrical protection and calculation of protective device ratings;
• The principles of earthing;
• Switching and isolation of electrical equipment;

• The use of extension leads;
• Examples of electrical equipment hazards;
• Some practical work is included.
