Note: The IET Faraday has superseded the Faraday Lectures

Developed to complement your teaching, the IET Faraday will inspire students with the ‘real-world’ application of the science, engineering and technology they learn in the classroom.

In addition to a series of challenges designed to test their innovation, problem-solving and communication skills, students will get to unlock their potential through a bank of activities including lesson plans, quizzes, games, and four fantastic live FaraDay events.

This year’s IET Faraday theme ‘Technology for Life’ is an exploration of the incredible technology that is saving lives and improving the quality of life, for millions of people across the world.

To initiate the ‘Technology for Life’ programme, the IET Faraday team has produced a series of specially made short films based on this year’s theme to illustrate how scientists, engineers and technologists apply their knowledge of engineering and health to their daily working lives.

The films can be viewed from the IET Faraday website and through the JANET network.

Students will also have the opportunity to meet pioneering scientists at our FaraDay events and expert Faraday Engineers could visit your school. Their inspiring and motivational stories will enthuse your pupils about studying science, engineering and technology and open their eyes to future career opportunities.

FaraDays

The action-packed live FaraDay events are a full day of activities at exciting venues in the UK, and will take place during National Science and Engineering Week.

FaraDay events are free to attend and the IET will cover the expenses of winning challenge teams.
