Arrangements for sitting City and Guilds 2382-10 examination
The IET, as a City & Guilds approved centre, will be arranging these examinations.
If you hold a City and Guilds certificate from 2001-2007 please see the link to the right of the page which will take you to the 17th Edition one day upgrade and exam details. For all other experienced electricians and electrical contractors, this is the exam for you.
This is a multiple-choice test of 60 questions with a maximum of two hours allowed. The test is computer based; you will receive a printed result on completion of the test.
In order to familiarise yourself with the new test procedure, you have the opportunity to sit a ten minute navigational test beforehand.
Required publications
Please be aware that you will require a copy of Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671:2008 (red cover) for this City and Guilds 2382 exam. Its full price is £65 but once you have booked on a course with the IET you are entitled to a 20 per cent discount taking the price to £52. To aid your revision, the IET has produced the publication: Exam Success: IEE Wiring Regulations 2382-10 which is priced at £12.
