QinetiQ’s rapidly developing STEM engagement strategy

QinetiQ is unusual. One thing that hasn't changed is the breadth of QinetiQ’s technical expertise, which places it in a unique position to support UK education and public and professional engagement across the spectrum of STEM subjects.


Games and graphics hardware technology opening ceremony

Friday February 23rd 2007 saw the prestigious opening ceremony in the School of Electronic, Communication and Electrical Engineering, University of Hertfordshire. 


IET commends NISCC best practice guidelines

The IET has established an excellent working relationship with NISCC and through our Sector Panels and Technical and Professional Networks is helping them to deliver an effective service.  NISCC has recently published a number of Good Practice Guides for Process Control and SCADA Security.


Scottish Power increases its engagement with the IET

Advanced Modern Apprentices at Scottish Power Energy Networks are now offered the opportunity to join the IET as a student member - to help with their academic studies and their professional development. The scheme currently has 100 trainees within the Business.


IET calls on employers and their apprentices to take up internationally recognised qualifications

The IET is offering employers a fast-track route for their apprentices and technicians to obtain the internationally recognised professional qualification, Engineering Technician (EngTech). 


Training re-accreditation

British Nuclear Group Sellafield Ltd has recently succeeded in gaining a re-accreditation of its graduate electrical development programme with the IET.


WYKO and the IET

WYKO Industrial Services has established a partnership with the IET. The partnership arrangement will enable the two organisations to work together to ensure that WYKO’s engineering is enhanced by IET’s services and to influence the quality of engineering employee competence.


The Resettlement Training Centre (RTC), Aldershot

The Resettlement Training Centre (RTC) based at Aldershot, trains personnel leaving the armed forces for a second career in civilian life. It delivers some 50 different courses from a suite of hands on Electrical engineering courses highly valued in the industry, to a range of Management courses reflecting Service Leavers’ management experience.


IET North West business partners golf day 2006

The third IET NW business partners golf day kicked off on a beautiful autumn day at the Carden Park Golf Resort near Chester.


Intellect launches organisational professionalism guidelines

In November 2006 Intellect, the trade association for the UK’s IT, telecommunications and electronics industries, launched guidelines designed to improve organisational professionalism throughout the ICT value chain.
